A satisfying salary for Nigerian workers-ngege

Nigeria’s minister of Labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige says Nigerian workers would smile soon, when they begin to reap an enhanced minimum wage.

Ngige who spoke with journalist in Awka said the National Tripartite Committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari has swung into action and would likely conclude all arrangement about the minimum wage in the third quarter of 2018.

The minister said the committee is very important to the president, who has been giving close supervision, and that with the framework already marked out, the committee may finish in the third quarter of the year.

“We had our inaugural meeting on 14th December and we did a frame work for our work. We will finish our job before the third quarters of this year, but we may finish earlier.

“Minimum Wage is a national matter and only the federal government can legislate on it. Labour matter and the issue of national minimum wage is in the exclusive list.

“President Buhari is monitoring it strictly, and I am monitoring it too. I wear a double cap as minister of labour, who is the regulator and also as the deputy chairman of the committee.”

Ngige said the committee will work to come out with an acceptable minimum wage, saying that the Nigeria governors forum, representatives of the Nigerian workers, and the Nigerian Employers Consultative Assembly, NECA all make up the committee.

“We have State governors; one from each geo political zone, five minister and the head of service in the committee. States will key into the new minimum wage when we are done because they are part of it.

“Minimum wage will not take care of disparity in salaries. We will fix it, but states can pay more than that. I give you an example, today minimum wage is N18,500, but Adams Oshiomhole was paying N25,000 before he left office.

“Minimum wage is just to set the baseline, but States can pay more
On what Nigerians should expect as the minimum wage, Ngige said, he will not reveal yet what he has in mind, but would rather table it before the committee and back it up with productivity indices.

He said one of the cardinal principle of negotiating wages as stipulated by the International Labour Organisation(ILO) is ability to pay.

He said the committee will let workers table their request, while the governors representatives and the NECA can look at how feasible it is to pay, just as the workers through NLC can also negotiate with representatives of employers if they propose below their expectations

“For now, I will not tell you what I think is the ideal minimum wage, I will rather say it at the committee. We will put a lot of things into consideration and come up with this an acceptable minimum wage.

A great shocking prophecy about Buhari, Atiku, Tinubu, revealed by bishop ajose

A former chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ikeja chapter and General Overseer of Prophetic Prayer Ministries International Bishop Theophilus Ajose has revealed the message he had concerning President Muhammadu Buhari.

He advised the president to abide by doctors instructions, calling for continued prayers over his health.

In his message titled, ‘2018 – Year of enforcement of Divine prophecies and a new world order’, Bishop Ajose urged Buhari to pray against food poisoning and betrayal from APC stalwarts.

“There shall be series of resignation from his cabinet and government officers of his government in the second and third half of 2018”, he said.

On former governor of Lagos state, Bola Tinubu, Ajose said he also risks betrayal from trusted party members.

“He should protect his family from politics and political arrows if he must enjoy the peace he desperately needs at this latter part of his life and destiny. He also needs to watch his health seriously in 2018.”

On former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, the bishop said, “2018 look bright and rewarding for the political proverbial cat with nine lives and the PDP Presidential hopeful. There shall be a major threat to his life, and some unholy disclosures concerning him shall bring a temporary setback to his political ambition.

“He will reach out to his former political foes and build bridges of goodwill in an attempt to stabilise his political base. He must watch his health very seriously and the “medication” he receives which may be poison in disguise.”

The cleric added that, “Two of Nigeria’s elder statesmen shall “go home” in 2018. The world and the nation shall miss them. A great world leader shall die in the first half of 2018. A governor shall be impeached in the second half of the year.

“There are going to be climatic and environmental changes of great immense proportion in 2018. The effect of the degradation of the ozone layer is to be felt on the earth more than ever before.

“The world will witness natural disaster in 2018 more than ever that many cities, states and even two sovereign nations shall be wiped off the map of the world due to earthquakes, storms and hurricanes. For the first time, some African nations shall experience earthquakes and natural disasters beyond the ordinary.

“Despite the cordial relationship that the Nigeria government presently enjoys with the USA, there shall be policy and diplomatic disagreement and confrontation with the USA in 2018 starting from the second quarter of the year.”

A Hurrible Alarm Raised By Some Groups Due To Stringtly Divertion If Idps Materials

An alarm over alleged diversion of relief materials meant for victims of human ethnic crisis in Adamawa by {Stop Genocide Action Group} .
With what the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said,  that group’s spokesman, Prof. Sali Nana, who raised the alarm in a statement on Saturday, called on the government to carry out an investigation into the matter to alleviate the suffering of the victims.

“We draw your attention to the unprecedented diversion of relief aid meant for the victims of the recent ethnic conflict in Numan and its surrounding communities in Adamawa.
“Many of these victims are still lying in hospitals with neither the necessary attention from relevant authorities nor means of proper treatment.
“The deplorable condition of the victims and lacklustre attitude of those entrusted to deliver the needed intervention calls for immediate intervention,” he said.
The group which presented a table to buttress its allegations claimed that latest relief materials brought by NEMA and Secretary to the Government of the Federation that was divided among Fulani and Bachama victims, had the share of Fulani victims given to some Fulani representatives who were yet to account fully for the materials given them for the victims.

The group also claimed that up to date, out of the 1,200 bags of millet presented to the representatives of Fulani victims, only 160 bags were delivered while they were yet to see the 200 bags of cements, 200 bundles of zinc, and 50 ponds of roofing nails among others meant for the victims.
It also cited another instance where the state government provided N150, 000 per head of cattle lost during one of such incidents, but victims were given only N17,000 per cattle.
“For instance, in an attempt to resolve earlier disputes, the Adamawa government recommended the payment of N150,000 only, per head of cow as compensation to the Fulani community whose cattle were killed or carted away.
“However, this timely humanitarian gesture was scuttled by some individuals assigned to deliver the compensation. They ended up paying only N17,000 per cow to the victims,” the group said.
The group said similar situations were as noticed in the relief materials brought by Senator Abdulaziz Nyako for the victims.
Also speaking on the development, the North East chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Alhaji Mafindi Danburam also called for probe into the handling of the relief by the authorities.
“I want Federal Government and NEMA to look for those the gave the materials meant for Fulani victims to account for it,” Danburam said.
When contacted, the Adamawa Coordinator of NEMA, Mr Abani Imam, said he was yet to receive any official complained on the issue.
Imam said all he knew was that NEMA handed over the materials to representatives of Bachama and Fulani, adding that if there was any complaints he was yet to receive it for the agency to act
