A satisfying salary for Nigerian workers-ngege

Nigeria’s minister of Labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige says Nigerian workers would smile soon, when they begin to reap an enhanced minimum wage.

Ngige who spoke with journalist in Awka said the National Tripartite Committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari has swung into action and would likely conclude all arrangement about the minimum wage in the third quarter of 2018.

The minister said the committee is very important to the president, who has been giving close supervision, and that with the framework already marked out, the committee may finish in the third quarter of the year.

“We had our inaugural meeting on 14th December and we did a frame work for our work. We will finish our job before the third quarters of this year, but we may finish earlier.

“Minimum Wage is a national matter and only the federal government can legislate on it. Labour matter and the issue of national minimum wage is in the exclusive list.

“President Buhari is monitoring it strictly, and I am monitoring it too. I wear a double cap as minister of labour, who is the regulator and also as the deputy chairman of the committee.”

Ngige said the committee will work to come out with an acceptable minimum wage, saying that the Nigeria governors forum, representatives of the Nigerian workers, and the Nigerian Employers Consultative Assembly, NECA all make up the committee.

“We have State governors; one from each geo political zone, five minister and the head of service in the committee. States will key into the new minimum wage when we are done because they are part of it.

“Minimum wage will not take care of disparity in salaries. We will fix it, but states can pay more than that. I give you an example, today minimum wage is N18,500, but Adams Oshiomhole was paying N25,000 before he left office.

“Minimum wage is just to set the baseline, but States can pay more
On what Nigerians should expect as the minimum wage, Ngige said, he will not reveal yet what he has in mind, but would rather table it before the committee and back it up with productivity indices.

He said one of the cardinal principle of negotiating wages as stipulated by the International Labour Organisation(ILO) is ability to pay.

He said the committee will let workers table their request, while the governors representatives and the NECA can look at how feasible it is to pay, just as the workers through NLC can also negotiate with representatives of employers if they propose below their expectations

“For now, I will not tell you what I think is the ideal minimum wage, I will rather say it at the committee. We will put a lot of things into consideration and come up with this an acceptable minimum wage.

A great shocking prophecy about Buhari, Atiku, Tinubu, revealed by bishop ajose

A former chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ikeja chapter and General Overseer of Prophetic Prayer Ministries International Bishop Theophilus Ajose has revealed the message he had concerning President Muhammadu Buhari.

He advised the president to abide by doctors instructions, calling for continued prayers over his health.

In his message titled, ‘2018 – Year of enforcement of Divine prophecies and a new world order’, Bishop Ajose urged Buhari to pray against food poisoning and betrayal from APC stalwarts.

“There shall be series of resignation from his cabinet and government officers of his government in the second and third half of 2018”, he said.

On former governor of Lagos state, Bola Tinubu, Ajose said he also risks betrayal from trusted party members.

“He should protect his family from politics and political arrows if he must enjoy the peace he desperately needs at this latter part of his life and destiny. He also needs to watch his health seriously in 2018.”

On former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, the bishop said, “2018 look bright and rewarding for the political proverbial cat with nine lives and the PDP Presidential hopeful. There shall be a major threat to his life, and some unholy disclosures concerning him shall bring a temporary setback to his political ambition.

“He will reach out to his former political foes and build bridges of goodwill in an attempt to stabilise his political base. He must watch his health very seriously and the “medication” he receives which may be poison in disguise.”

The cleric added that, “Two of Nigeria’s elder statesmen shall “go home” in 2018. The world and the nation shall miss them. A great world leader shall die in the first half of 2018. A governor shall be impeached in the second half of the year.

“There are going to be climatic and environmental changes of great immense proportion in 2018. The effect of the degradation of the ozone layer is to be felt on the earth more than ever before.

“The world will witness natural disaster in 2018 more than ever that many cities, states and even two sovereign nations shall be wiped off the map of the world due to earthquakes, storms and hurricanes. For the first time, some African nations shall experience earthquakes and natural disasters beyond the ordinary.

“Despite the cordial relationship that the Nigeria government presently enjoys with the USA, there shall be policy and diplomatic disagreement and confrontation with the USA in 2018 starting from the second quarter of the year.”

A Hurrible Alarm Raised By Some Groups Due To Stringtly Divertion If Idps Materials

An alarm over alleged diversion of relief materials meant for victims of human ethnic crisis in Adamawa by {Stop Genocide Action Group} .
With what the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said,  that group’s spokesman, Prof. Sali Nana, who raised the alarm in a statement on Saturday, called on the government to carry out an investigation into the matter to alleviate the suffering of the victims.

“We draw your attention to the unprecedented diversion of relief aid meant for the victims of the recent ethnic conflict in Numan and its surrounding communities in Adamawa.
“Many of these victims are still lying in hospitals with neither the necessary attention from relevant authorities nor means of proper treatment.
“The deplorable condition of the victims and lacklustre attitude of those entrusted to deliver the needed intervention calls for immediate intervention,” he said.
The group which presented a table to buttress its allegations claimed that latest relief materials brought by NEMA and Secretary to the Government of the Federation that was divided among Fulani and Bachama victims, had the share of Fulani victims given to some Fulani representatives who were yet to account fully for the materials given them for the victims.

The group also claimed that up to date, out of the 1,200 bags of millet presented to the representatives of Fulani victims, only 160 bags were delivered while they were yet to see the 200 bags of cements, 200 bundles of zinc, and 50 ponds of roofing nails among others meant for the victims.
It also cited another instance where the state government provided N150, 000 per head of cattle lost during one of such incidents, but victims were given only N17,000 per cattle.
“For instance, in an attempt to resolve earlier disputes, the Adamawa government recommended the payment of N150,000 only, per head of cow as compensation to the Fulani community whose cattle were killed or carted away.
“However, this timely humanitarian gesture was scuttled by some individuals assigned to deliver the compensation. They ended up paying only N17,000 per cow to the victims,” the group said.
The group said similar situations were as noticed in the relief materials brought by Senator Abdulaziz Nyako for the victims.
Also speaking on the development, the North East chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Alhaji Mafindi Danburam also called for probe into the handling of the relief by the authorities.
“I want Federal Government and NEMA to look for those the gave the materials meant for Fulani victims to account for it,” Danburam said.
When contacted, the Adamawa Coordinator of NEMA, Mr Abani Imam, said he was yet to receive any official complained on the issue.
Imam said all he knew was that NEMA handed over the materials to representatives of Bachama and Fulani, adding that if there was any complaints he was yet to receive it for the agency to act

NLC have threatened to wish Nigeria a happy new year with strike

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has vowed to embark on industrial action if the petrol scarcity biting the country persists into the New Year.

NLC gave the threat in a statement issued on Friday, December 29.
Expert Desilter Supplier - Handling Capacity

The statement, however, lauded the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, for directing the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) to cut short its recess and immediately convene industry stakeholders’ meeting to tackle the petrol crisis.

The statement by Issa Aremu, said the problems of the downstream sector that led to the petrol crisis in the country exposed what he described as “crisis of corporate governance in the petroleum sector.”

According to him, the downstream sector has a problem of “abysmal absence of accountability, transparency and openness in the administration of the petroleum resources of Nigeria.”

He said only the legislature can bring an end to the crisis in the sector, adding that by directing the senate committee members to resume duty and tackle the crisis, the Senate had shown that the legislature was truly “a vent for public grievances, a “useful organ of public opinion.”

He said “there is a deep-seated conflict of interest in the downstream sector. Regulators are operators; regulators are importers; importers are products hoarders, regulators are also saboteurs.
“Definitely, we have a sector captured in our hands, Nigeria and Nigerians need liberation.”

Aremu also called for a “total ban on importation to reinvent domestic refineries and beneficiation to crude oil,” alleging that the “NNPC is the only public corporation that annually awards its directors long service incentives for no service at all, for non-functioning refineries.”

Ngege:Fg Have Created More Than 8million Blue Collar Job

Minister of labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige says the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has created over eight million jobs in less than three years.
Ngige said the jobs were mostly blue collar jobs, which he said was the main hub in employment generation today.
Air Drilling Rig For Sale

He said farming, carpentry, bricklaying, tiling and many others constitute the blue collar jobs which the federal government was now using to redeem youths from joblessness occasioned by lack of white collar jobs.
The minister, who spoke to journalists Friday at Ifitedunu, Anambra State after the ground breaking ceremony of a specialist skill acquisition centre, said because of the huge employment potential in the blue collar jobs, the federal government decided to build centres where it would give youths of all educational qualification different levels of training that would help them secure jobs.
He said, “There are no white collar jobs any longer. If you are waiting for one, you will wait for a long time.
“People are now finding employment in the blue collar jobs, and it is even more profitable. How many of you are aware that the day pay for carpenters and other artisans have increased?
“In Abuja they collect as high as N10,000. If they get jobs even if it is five times a month, do you know how much that is? How many white collar jobs pay that?”
Ngige said the unavailability of artisans was because most of them had gone to farm, and there was need to train a new generation of tillers, builders, and people in other crafts.
“In farming alone, this government has generated lots of jobs. You eat Anambra rice here, others eat Abakaliki rice, in Abuja I eat Kano rice and even Imo too has come up with their. All these brings employment,” he said.
Speaking on the Ifitedunu specialist skill acquisition centre, the minister said the centre was budgeted for in 2017 budget, and was again captured in the 2018 budget.
“What that means is that the funds for the project is already available. There is not fear of the project being abandoned.
“Federal government will construct this skill acquisition centre with maximum dispatch,” he said.

Nextyear:Buhari, tinubu, a trash for APC

Former member of the House of Representatives and former speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, George Daika says President Muhammadu Buhari will be defeated if he contests in 2019, alongside former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Daika said President Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019 does not pose a threat to the Peoples Democratic Party as Nigerians were tired of his inability to fulfil promises.
More than 850 mobile filling stations have

On reports that Tinubu would be Buhari’s running mate come 2019, Daika said he would never win as it was a ‘dead ticket on arrival’, describing the selection as worst decision of APC if taken.

“Buhari/Tinubu is already a ticket dead on arrival, that will be the worst decision and we are praying for that insensitive arrangement. We are waiting for whatever they want to do and Nigerians are prepared and ready to change the negative change for a better change that is why over 10, 000 APC members decamped recently in Katsina to PDP and many more are still coming.

“If Buhari is contesting election in 2019, I think that should not be a problem for us as a party; with his inability to fulfil any of his campaign promises, the hunger and hardship Nigerians are going through, it will be easy for PDP to push Buhari away if the right candidate emerges. I want to assure you that Buhari will find it extremely difficult, it is not going to be like 2015 where they used propaganda and all sorts of lies to deceived Nigerians against the PDP.

“Nigerians today have compared between PDP and APC and they know which way to go. With the current awareness in the country, it will be very difficult for Buhari to make any impact. If Buhari runs on the ticket of APC in 2019, PDP will have a free ride because, truly speaking, with Buhari as a candidate, it will just be a walk over for us. People who believed and sponsored Buhari’s campaign in 2015 are today disappointed, they have been chained from seeing the change, the change Buhari brought is a negative one and Nigerians are not prepared for Buhari in 2019”, he said.

Daika speaking with Sun said former vice president Atiku would beat Buhari in the North if he emerged as PDP presidential candidate.

“I believe with the current happening in the country, Atiku can beat Buhari in his home state. We have seen people decamping from APC to PDP and that shows clearly that Nigerians are tired of APC.

“I believed PDP can defeat APC in Katsina, you could see it even when former President Goodluck Jonathan went on a condolence visit to Kano, you saw the overwhelming crowd that came out to received him at the airport, chanting songs, we want you back, we want you back’ and that was because Nigerians are really suffering and they are yearning for the return of PDP.

“I want to say it here that we have to be careful during our presidential primaries so that we will not introduce issue that led us to lose the election in 2015. PDP has all it takes to win the presidential election, all aspirants should be given a level playing ground, there should be no imposition, politics of money bags should be avoided, and we should allow the people to decide whoever they want, with this, certainly we will bounce back in 2019.

“It is my desire that aspirants from the north central should be accommodated; the contest should be narrowed down to North Central and North East who have not produced a democratically elected president in the country before”, he added.

Diverted Fuel trucks in Nigeria that is up 4501-NNPC bus, baru

Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru on Thursday said 4501 petrol trucks vanished from the Nigerian radar in December.

He said this at an investigative public hearing by a Joint Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Petroleum Downstream.

“Due to massive diversion, hoarding, panic buying and smuggling, coupled with the information that three Direct Sales Direct Purchase Consortia had rejected October cargoes, there was insinuation of a supply gap,” Baru noted.

According to him, the nation lost about 148,533,000 million litres of fuel to the suspected diversion during the December fuel crisis.

The NNPC GMD listed some of the key factors which were responsible for the crisis to include insufficient reserve, clearance speed, supply gap, diversion, hoarding, panic buying and smuggling.

He noted that prior to the crises, NNPC had 1.9 billion litres strategic reserve of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which would have lasted for 53 days.

Baru said due to panic buying, diversion and hoarding, the Corporation was unable to cope with the daily nation consumption of 37 million litres of PMS, which led to the presence of long queues at petrol stations across the country.

He however said that NNPC took some urgent steps to resolve the scarcity which included but not limited to the immediate activation of war room, additional imports to increase days sufficiency, 24-hour operations in all NNPC Depots and mega stations; sustained media and stakeholders engagements; increased monitoring, surveillance and sanctions as well as production at Kaduna and Port Harcourt refineries put at 3 million daily.

Baru also used the opportunity to call on the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) to review the pricing template and landing cost.

He also asked the National Assembly to approve outstanding subsidy payments and debts to marketers

Fulani herdsmen is even worse compared to Boko haram - colonel sta-labo

A retired military officer, Colonel Hassan Stan-Labo, on Thursday said herdsmen attacks in states might be worse than the Boko Haram insurgency.
Speaking on Thursday during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the security expert advised the Federal Government to act before the menace got out of hands.
Labo stressed that Nigerians were concerned about the attacks reportedly carried out by herdsmen, whom he described as terrorists.
“I think attacks by Fulani herdsmen is a disturbing issue, enough is enough we must look for solutions to all this.
“Attacks by Fulani herdsmen wouldn’t be too far from Boko Haram insurgency very soon because frankly, these things keep building up gradually.
“And in our normal or traditional manner of handling issues, like some of my friends will say – we keep romancing it until it done on us that look, we are into it as if we are into another Boko Haram.
“The attacks on various communities even if it is not as bad as Boko Haram, it has given us all the early warnings, all the signs that are could even be worse than Boko Haram.
“If we place the tag of terrorist on IPOB – on this very programme I referred to IPOB as terrorists, I would also want to refer to these guys, the herdsmen as terrorists because their actions give them out as that. They might not be flying a flag and sort but they are armed,” he said.
The security expert urged the government to address the shortage of manpower in the police and the military in securing the lives and property of the people.
“I am not particularly too impressed with the way we’ve handled the herdsmen issues, and I have this feeling that we have a serious manpower issue even with the security agencies.
“Yes, we have serious manpower issues – both the police and even the military the army is being overstretched,” he added.

FG-No Possible Plan To Increase Fuel Prices

In Nigeria today fuel has no appropriate price that is of no limit and can inflat any day and any time but for you to get an updated news stringtry bookmark this site.

The federal government has denied plans to increase price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly called petrol to a minimum price of N180
This was contained in a statement issued by Idang Alibi, Director of Press, Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Idang said thee Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu during the Joint Senate and House of Representatives Committee hearing on fuel scarcity never mentioned the need to increase price of petrol as the matter was still being deliberated on.
The statement read:
“Our attention has been drawn to publications making rounds on traditional & social media alleging that the HMSPR Dr. @IbeKachikwu dropped a hint of an impending fuel price increase during the Joint Senate and House of Representatives Committee hearing on fuel scarcity in Nigeria.
“The Ministry of Petroleum Resources would like to categorically state that the Honorable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources all through his presentations at the hearing, neither mentioned nor insinuated the need or plans by the FG to increase the current pump price of PMS.

“It would be expedient to note that that the Presidency has set up a special committee to identify the immediate and remote causes of the fuel scarcity with a view to finding both immediate and long lasting solutions to the challenge.
“The Committee has been in rounds of deliberations in the past few days and these discussions are still ongoing. The final decisions and recommendations from the Committee would be passed on to the President and Commander-In-Chief for approval.
“The general public and indeed stakeholders in the Oil and Gas sector are by this statement urged to disregard any such report of a price increase.
“Further information and communiqué on the resolutions would be communicated as and when due.”

Kano State Hisbah Board on Wednesday said it received no fewer than 98,217 cases last year.
Public Relations Officer of the board, Malam Umar Yahaya who said this in a statment issued in Kano noted that the cases covered prostitution, matrimonial disputes and quarrels between neighbours.
Yahya said “The disputes relate to debts, disagreements among neighbours, prostitution, breastfeeding as well as consumption of alcohol, among others”.
He said that the board was committed to its mandate of ridding the society of social ills, adding that efforts will be intensified to restore moral sanity in the state.

Why APC will lose next election – Cross River party chapter

Leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River has said President Muhammadu Buhari should blame himself if the party loses subsequent elections in the state.
The party said the recent appointments of indigenes of the state into federal government boards and agencies has threatened to destroy the foundation by which the party was established.
Chairman of the Candidates Forum of the APC ahead of the Local Government Elections in the state, Elder James Anam, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues and majority of the membership of the party, accused the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani, of submitting one sided list to the presidency.
In a statement released in Calabar and made available to newsmen, Anam pointed out that the issue has the potential of robbing the party of victory in coming elections.
He said, “The Presidency would take the blame for the party’s abysmal performance in future polls except it reviews the situation by ensuring that only submissions that emerge from wider consultations are placed in public space.
He wondered, “Why the presidency would renege on the report of the presidential committee on board appointments whose input from Cross River considered varied interests,” and charged Abuja to “corrects the anomaly quickly.”
His words; “I’m sure the presidency was not thorough in picking names for the appointments, if it assigned the Honorable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs the responsibility of preparing a new list from what the committee did, it should have resorted to thorough scrutiny of the said list to ensure very importantly, that the issue of lopsidedness was left out.”

Fayose’s Wife- What God Revealed To Me About My Husband

Wife to Ekiti State Governor, Mrs, Feyisetan Fayose, has proposed to deal with anyone who opposes his husband's desicion
She warned that such persons are “obstructing the work of God,” adding that the “consequences will be too much for them.”

She also said this while maintaining that God had revealed to her a long time ago that her husband was going for a position of authority higher than the governorship he currently holds.
A statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Gbenga Ariyibi, quoted Mrs. Fayose as said this in Ado Ekiti during the New Year’s thanksgiving service.
She, however, said though God did not reveal to her the time and the position God has scheduled for her husband.
“I want to plead with everyone, don’t hunt for the downfall of this government, don’t even try it.

“God is looking at you, and God is watching. Don’t hunt for the failure of continuity. Why? Because our God is God of continuity, our leader is carrying the unusual grace; if you don’t want to be disgraced, don’t hunt for the downfall of this government, don’t hunt for the failure of continuity, I have said my own.
“It is not him, it’s God through him. Look beyond him, and let’s continue to work together in unity.
“God told me expressly, years back, that he needed Ayo Fayose in Nigeria.
“What brought about this was that, I was praying that the trouble of this man was too much, that I wanted God to take politics away from him, to separate him from politics, that I have had too much.
“But God said, ‘Leave him to me, he is in the hollow of my palm, l need him in Nigeria, it is not only Ekiti. He is just passing through Ekiti State,” she said.
Mrs. Fayose said that nothing in this world will ever make her husband not to achieve the  plan God has in stock for him and the people of the state

Vision 2019:Ebonyi PDP Senator diverts to APC

A Senator from Ebonyi State, Chief Sonni Ogbuoji, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ogbuoji, who represents the Southern Senatorial District of the state in the upper chamber, showed up at the APC Southeast Caucus meeting, which held at the Uburu, Ohaozara country home of the Science and Technology Minister, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, at the weekend, in Ebonyi State.

According to him, the APC was the best option for the southeast, especially as the zone eyes the Presidency by 2023.
“I am one of those who believe that the issue of Igbo marginalisation cannot be corrected by shouting in the media.
“The Igbo have a responsibility to determine what should happen about marginalisation. It’s not to be waiting for the other people who are interested in the same thing to now give it to us; it’s not going to work.
“I have ever believed that by joining forces; sharing ideas with those who are already in APC, we have a better chance of improving what we have.
“The level of governance that we are receiving from PDP governors is not going to help the case of the PDP and the Igbo. So, there is no need offending ourselves that PDP is an Igbo party; it’s far from it.
“As we speak today, APGA may lay claim to being an Igbo party; but certainly, PDP cannot lay claim to be an Igbo party,” Ogbuoji said.

Cristiano Ronaldo : What Will Be My job After Retirement?

What is really my dream?
Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed dreams of a career in the movie industry once he retires from football.

The Real Madrid player who won a fifth Ballon d’Or trophy against Lionel Messi has three years left on his current contract with the La Liga side.

Cristiano Ronaldo speaking on post retirement told Sky Italia that he would become an actor or director once he retired from football.
“I am focused right now because my football career will finish one day – we all have to retire one day.

“I know that day will come. But right now, I am enjoying the moment. When I am retired, I think I will have a good life. I don’t say that because of money.

“I want to try other things; for example, to do movies. I started to plan my future when I was 27, 28 – a long time ago, I began preparing.

“I have a good team, who work in my company, who start to build good things going forward. In football, I am very calm because I know they depend on me.
“The main point is to be motivated,If you are motivated, the other things come (to you) easier. To be in this sport, you need to dedicate yourself to your work. You have to work hard with your ambition and your passion.
“You have many factors that you should put in all together. I still have a lot the passion for football and I love to win and I feel capable of getting more every year.

Barcelona confirm Dembele ready to play after injury sustained

              What really happened
With comfirmation made by the Barcelona that Ousmane Dembele is ready to return to action, after he was sidelined for three and a half months with a thigh problem.
The 20-year-old sustained the problem against Getafe on September 16 and underwent an operation in Finland. But he has now been medically discharged and is now available for selection.

Barca manager, Ernesto Valverde, will hoping to give Dembele some minutes in Thursday’s Copa del Rey clash with Celta Vigo.
Surgeon Sakari Orava, who operated on Dembele, put the injury partly down to naivety on the winger’s part.
“Maybe it was a sin of youth not to say that he felt pain in that area before,” Orava told Mundo Deportivo.
“The pressure he’d been exposed to after his signing for Barca also could have influenced it.”
